frequently asked questions

Walk me through the process, how does it work? What can I expect as a patient?

It's really quite simple.  First, you make a quick call to me (262 949 7020) or send an email to maryfrazier.lcsw@gmail.com for a free first consultation which will take about 15 minutes.  We will talk briefly about your situation, your history, goals, etc.  You can ask anything and it's free.  There are no wrong answers!  It is my goal for you to feel as comfortable as possible so that we can start the therapy process.

Do I have to know exactly what I need help for? Do I need to have a diagnosed disorder?

You certainly do not.  Most of my clients are on a journey rather than trying to overcome just one single issue.  As such, we view treatment as an ongoing and ever-evolving process.  I like to think that therapy with me is both a way to discuss and defeat larger issues while still traversing our day-to-day lives and all the relationships involved.

Do you accept insurance/Medicare?

I am a credentialed provider for Medicare and a host of other insurance companies. If I am not a provider with your carrier, I will help you fill out whatever forms necessary in order to send on to the insurance company for reimbursement.  I also work with clients who self-pay.  The cost of a session depends on the duration of the session (most run for an hour to an hour and a half).  The frequency and length of sessions can vary depending on clinical circumstances.

What does the tele-therapy process involve?

As a teletherapy provider I offer the security of a private, confidential “office” with the ease of “meeting” you anywhere at times convenient for you.  I understand that in today’s world, many clients’ schedules are dictated by jobs, family responsibilities, child-care, health, etc. which is why I strive to make my practice as easy for you as possible.  Teletherapy is easily accessed with a computer, smartphone, or tablet and an internet connection. I will send you an email with a link which provides direct access to the telehealth appointment at the scheduled time.

Do I need to be referred to you by a doctor? Can I simply make an appointment?

Absolutely not!  While many of my clients have been referred to me  by a doctor or even another client, there is no easier way than to simply pick up the phone or email and we will start the process!
